New Rules

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of working with a great group of female creatives on a pool shoot inspired by Dua Lipa’s New Rules music video. Below are a few photos from the fashion shoot.

Makeup and Styling: Anastasia Miller, Rachel Gonzales

Models: Grace Davila, Jazmyn Griffin, Jessica Spellman

Photography: Francesca Neely-Dickey (Francesca Blue Photo)

Clements-Geib Wedding

Between moving my website to an entirely new server, updating my photoshoot packages, and working with a lot of new (and amazing!) clients, I never really had the chance to dedicate a blog to this beautiful wedding on my new website. It was a truly magical day and it would be a crime not make a post about it!

I shot the bulk of this wedding on my 35mm lens. I’ve always felt the most connected to this lens. Partially because I began learning photography with film cameras and 35mm lenses. I just love how much it reminds me of film. I also love how lightweight and versatile it is, which is a common perk I hear others rave about all the time.

I’m also a pretty big advocate for prime lenses. They’re usually a little cheaper and also require more intimacy when you shoot. Literally. You have to “zoom” the photo by picking up your own two feet and moving closer to the subject. There’s something much more special about actually being in the moment.

If you’re looking for an old school shooting experience, get a prime lens. They’re a lot fun.

I’m gearing up for more weddings this fall and I’m so full of new ideas I can’t wait to try. By the way, if you’re planning a ceremony for the fall, don’t bet on it being cooler outside. I have a very strong feeling October is going to be scorcher (it was last year, too).

Oh, Texas weddings. I love them so.
